The future of Technology

Hi ladies. Welcome to your first blog post. Please refer to the first post in the blog about procedures before proceeding.

Positive: Computers in 5 years.
Negative: Social Media Ripping Society Apart

According to the videos above that we watched in class, computers affect our lives in many ways. The first described positive ways technology will improve our lives. The second is kinda scary.

For our blog post I want you to reflect on this question. Based on your experience give your opinion on what you think are the long-term effects of living in a technological world? Are these mostly negative or positive?

Please write a short paragraph 5-6 sentences, describing which side you lean toward. Please include a little of your own experience and how you think technology will help or hurt you in the future.

  1. I think the long-term effects of living in a technological world is mostly negative but anything is possible. Technology can help us in many ways but sometimes it can also distract us from our surroundings. Everyone uses phones but sometimes people can get hurt due to phones. For example, when someone uses their phone while driving they can easily run over some body else or hurt themselves. I also feel like the more technology grows, the more stupid people in the world get. Technology can also distract us from learning and getting a good education. Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow. New technology,as we know it, can easily be put out tomorrow or any other time in the future and no one knows what is to come.

  3. I think the long term effects of living in a technological world can be both negative and positive. We live in a world where almost everything we do is some-what connected to technology. One of the negative effects technology is going to have on society is that we are going to rely on it so much that we will not need to anything for ourselves . For example, people are always talking about teleportation. Although we do have cars, we do get exercise walking to them. Others take public transportation which does involve even more exercise. If we develop the tech. for teleportation, nobody will need to exercise ever again. Which is horrible for our bones. One of the positive impacts technology is going to have is that it is going to allow us to learn more about our environment. About were we came from. How the universe formed etc. I believe the only way for us to see if technology is going to have a negative or positive effect on us is to wait and see.

  4. i think that the long term effects of living in a technological world can mostly be negative but can be positive . kids and adults are on their phone all of the time , kids don't know how to interact with people , we spend so much time on our phones and computers and were too busy keeping up this the Kardashian's and playing video games that we don't see the world around us , we don't see the important problems this world has . However a postitve impact tecnology could have on society is that it could saves lives, tecnology is developing in ways most of us don't understand , computers might be able to do a heart transplant , we never know .

  5. I think the long term effects of living in technological world would be mainly negative.Technology can negatively effect the world because a lot of people use there technology, it could be from a microwave to a computer to complete there everyday duties but I feel that we are getting to dependent on technology. For example a few days ago my brother was crying because my mother took away his phone for just an hour. He was saying how he needs his phone and how he couldn't live without it. Now you see on T.V things like the auto vacuum robot cleaner and how it cleans your mess without you doing a single thing. My idea is that eventually overtime maybe in the next 100 years our life is going to be run by technology. Technology is going to do everything for us and we are just going to get lazy and not want to do anything for ourselves and I think hat is going to corrupt the nation.

  6. I personally think that in the long run, a world immersed in technology would be mostly negative. On the one hand, while the Internet does provide to be a useful tool in education and work, people often abuse it by surfing the net or spending their time on social media instead of using it as a resource. If people don't use the technology that they have now responsibly, then how can we be expected to be more mature with the advanced technology that's sure to come into the future? I think that many technological achievements are now created to minimize the time and effort that is put into a task because we humans are always looking for short cuts in our problems. I'm not completely against the use of technology in the future though. Medical and scientific advancements that are made with technology can improve the ways of life, but also, like every invention, poses new risks to us as they will be new and foreign concepts that could take years to fully understand and operate. Even now, technological inventions that aren't so new still pose threats, such as identity theft on the Internet (which has been around for roughly twenty years) still occurs daily, and hover boards, which although became a trendy way to travel, posed a threat of exploding and injuring the user. But who knows? Maybe a hundred years into the future, we will have completely mastered the rules of technology and can use that knowledge to decrease the amount of risks that come with it. But overall, I believe that a technological society would be a negative one.
